back in Melbourne

here we are back in melbourne after driving through Great Ocean Road and visiting Th Grampians National Park. I got billions of photos but too lazy to do anything with them right now. Gonna stay in Melbourne for over a month now and then drive to Sydney to drop Laura to the airport. Hopefully we will find a flat, actually going to check one out tonight, and also find a job for a few weeks. That's it, take care.

last post from Indo

We made our way from the jungle to Kuta Bali within two hellishly long days spent in five different cars, on motorcycles, on four different buses and a ferry. Well actually only the first day of travelling was long and yesterday was quite easy bus trip from Banyuwangi to Denpasar. The place where we stayed after Malang was called PPLH Environmental Education Centre near Trawas and right next to some volcano which name I can´t remember right now. The centre actually was a really nice place and definately worth a visit, but the ridiculous amount of big frogs and other not so nice animals was not so nice. I think that the first thing you want to see in the morning when you get out is not a snake. Well, if you like snakes then it might be but otherwise no. And the following conversation with an employee of the centre ”what snake it might have been?” ”a cobra possibly, we have cobras here” wasn´t really uplifting either. I guess PPLH would be nice place to visit with a group and with a proper programme so you would get more into it. Well at least we ate really well during our stay hehe...

Still have two more nights in Indonesia and on saturday evening we have a flight to Melbourne and from then on we have a home, in a van! Don´t really know what we´re gonna do when we get there, probably just gonna be happy that we´re able to cook our own food for a change and that we can travel by car instead of being told where to go and how and by what transport method by thirty too enthusiastic non-english speaking fellows. I don´t know that much about Indonesian education systems but I´ve come to think that one of the phrases they teach here in schools is ”transport cheap price yes mister necklace nice tattoo yea!”. And I have to admit I find the fact that in childrens Indonesian-English vocabularys list of animals the last english word was pussy, somehow disturbing. To be honest, this has been such an amazing five weeks here. We´ve been treated well, fed well and most of the nights we´ve slept well. But I also have to say that I won´t miss the morning prayers at 5am from the speakers at the mosque right next to the hotel. I´ve seen some of the most beautiful places I´ve ever seen and also seen the most amazing, the weirdest and the most disgusting things ever so this has definately been worth all of the bargaining and other annoying stuff you're pretty much forced to do around here.

And yea, today finally we got to the Indian restaurant here in Kuta, the place we´ve been talking about for almost two weeks now. And yes, it was delicious, again. Just finished a great movie called ”This is England” and got some fucked up news from Finland. So, few more nights and off to Australia, thanks Indonesia. Peace out.

malang

Just a short post from Malang. Arrived here yesterday evening and it's seems to be surprisingly quiet city to be one of biggest ones in indonesia. During this week I've seen a monkey riding a tiny motorbike, a bat which was big as an eagle (read: FUCKING HUGE!) and lots of other cool stuff. Yogyakarta was nice, so is Malang and tomorrow we're going to the forest to spend few days there. No photos this time.. check Sanna's blog for pics. That's all folks.
